It seems as of late drama is Nicki Minaj’s middle name. Her single “Lookin Ass Niggas” received backlash from fellow artists and a member of Malcolm X’s family and now she has the hip-hop community abuzz yet again. The YMCMB artist’s most recent release, “Chi-Raq” is definitely raising some eyebrows. Some are commending her for recruiting  Chicago native Lil’ Herb, while other’s aren’t thrilled that the rapper hailing from Trinidad would make an “anthem” for a city she has never called home.

Despite painting a semi-accurate depiction of the city plagued with gunfire and homicide, there are some Chicagoans who weren’t satisfied with Nicki’s description of their city. For those who aren’t feeling Nicki, there is an alternative. The song has inspired responses from Chicago rapper’s Dreezy and Katie Got Bandz. Check out all three versions below:
