Jeezy isn’t here for for the direction mainstream hip hop’s been going in, so he took his latest project back to the trap. Trap Or Die 3 is a compilation of 16 hustler’s anthems laced with real lyricism and base-heavy production.
No mumble rap or rappers here, Jeezy got right back to the street anthems that made him who he is. With only a handful of features, including Lil Wayne, French Montana and the late Bankroll Fresh, Jeezy reverts to telling stories of the life he new before the fame. Trap Or Die 3 does have something for the ladies too, the Atlanta based rapper teamed up with r’n’b bad boy Chris Brown for “Pretty Diamonds” for a hood love song of sorts.
Still storytelling, still progressive lyrically but far from commercial and certainly what the rap industry has been missing. Trap Or Die 3 is available worldwide.
