A lot of people say hip hop is in their blood, but for Lady Luck, that’s more than just a saying. The New Jersey born emcee is a descendant of Sugarhill Records founder Sylvia Robinson, the “Mother of Hip Hop”.
Lady Luck has been active in the music idustry since the age of 17, when she signed a deal with Def Jam Records. Though she describes her current situation as residing in “celebrity purgatory”, this year the lyricist is taking a step back into the spotlight.
Lady Luck has a starring role on Bravo’s reality series “First Family of Hip Hop.” The show follows her family’s efforts to revive their iconic record label and reclaim their position has hip hop’s royal family. In addition to making her cable debut, Lady Luck is also putting the finished touches on her upcoming album, She God.
Though, Lady Luck’s album isn’t quite complete, the emcee couldn’t keep her fans waiting. She released an EP entitled The Facelift.
