Taylor Bennett has made a headline of two for some not so positive situations, but today is a different situation. This afternoon, the Chicagoan released his latest effort Restoration Of An American Idol.
Restoration Of An American Idol is a half hour collection of eclectic flows and versatile subject matter over a diverse array of beats. On the nine track effort, Bennett successfully steps out of the shadows of his Grammy award winning older brother, Chance The Rapper to establish himself as an artist in his own right.
Though 21 year old rapper, made it obvious that he doesn’t need Chance The Rapper to be successful, he called on his sibling for the soul soothing “Grown Up Fairytails,” which features another Chicagoan: Jeremih. Lil Yatchy, Supa Bwe and Princeton of Mindless behavior make apprearances on Restoration Of An American Idol. Production for the effort came from a cornucopia of producers including Mike Will Made It, Luke Tennyson and Ludlow.
Restoration Of An American Idol is both creative and necessary. An obvious effort in hip hop, the EP is a nonconventional approach to the genre, world’s apart from some of the music of his Chicago counterparts. For anyone who has never listened to Taylor Bennett, Restoration Of An American Idol will make you a fan.
