After being encouraged to try the rap challenges on Facebook Mz. JQ decided to release a few short projects. The DJ, poet and radio personality reintroduced herself as a lyricist and released the second of four project this passed Sunday entitled “Old Verses New Poems”.

The nine track mixtape includes three poems, Mz. JQ’s #SoGoneChallenge, as well as her #AdenalineRushChallenge. A reminder of the necessity of female lyricists in hip hop, Mz. JQ is what the game’s been missing. Her distinctive voice and creative flows set her apart from the pack, while well arrange lyrics remind listeners to think before they speak.
