In life it is not uncommon to see people take alternate routes to their goals. D1CMG’s Mogul is no different. The artist turned CEO returned to his creative roots with the release of Still Humble. While Still Humble in its entirety is a vibe, “Respect” sets the tone.
For any creative work the introduction is imperative. “Respect” is evidence that Mogul understands that whole heartedly. The first of seven tracks on Still Humble, “Respect” is Mogul’s state of the union, if you will. In just under three minutes, in no uncertain terms, Mogul reminds anyone and everyone that he is not to be played with.
As his moniker suggests, Mogul is normally all successful business. “Respect” gives most a peak into who Mogul as a man and what’s important to him. Though, short in comparison to his list of accomplishments, “Respect” provides a bit of insight into what’s going on in Mogul’s life.
The vulnerability of “Respect” allows fans to see Mogul in a light that they may have never previously seen. The emphasis on family, personal responsibility, and business is evident.
