YDot GDot Crowns Miss Universe

When he isn’t touring the country as a dj, setting the vibes for a party, or hosting the most positive events in the city, YDot GDot is doing what made him an entertainer in the first place: music. Overnight, Chicago’s favorite nerd delivered another anthem for the ladies entitled “Miss Universe.”

“Miss Universe” is a fun, uptempo, feel good track. YDot GDot joined forces with FBG Young and Josh Arce over a Malcolm Flex beat and the result sounds a lot like spring break.

In typical YDot GDot fashion “Miss Universe” is nothing like what’s on the radio. Shying from the ever popular interlude length songs currently dominating airwaves, “Miss Universe” is more than three minutes long.

DJ Frankie French – Africa

Producer and DJ Frankie French teamed up with Two Gully and YDot GDot for his latest release entitled “Africa.”

A three headed monster based in Chicago, DJ Frankie French, Two Gully and YDot GDot are quite the combination. An ode of sorts to black girls, “Africa” is just more than two minutes of fun. As if being a black woman isn’t already lit leave if up to DJ Frankie French to make theme song for them.

Mz. JQ’s Old Verses New Poems

After being encouraged to try the rap challenges on Facebook Mz. JQ decided to release a few short projects. The DJ, poet and radio personality reintroduced herself as a lyricist and released the second of four project this passed Sunday entitled “Old Verses New Poems”.

The nine track mixtape includes three poems, Mz. JQ’s #SoGoneChallenge, as well as her #AdenalineRushChallenge. A reminder of the necessity of female lyricists in hip hop, Mz. JQ is what the game’s been missing. Her distinctive voice and creative flows set her apart from the pack, while well arrange lyrics remind listeners to think before they speak.

Sunny Woodz Pours Clout on Fiji Water Freestyle

Today, Chicago’s Clout God, Sunny Woodz, released his new single “Fiji Water Freestyle”.

“Fiji Water Freestyle” has an all-star lineup consisting of Supa Bwe, BigBodyFiji, Warhol.SS UG Vavy and Twista. Produced by UG Vavy, the song is the most creative 2:54 of the day.

The barrage a diverse flows over an unforgettable beat  is typical for the DJ. However “Fiji Water Freestyle” is far from the smokers’ music Sunny Woodz is known for. Uptempo for the most part, the track shows a new side of Sunny Woodz and, quite frankly, is a lot of fun.

Possibly and hopefully a look into what’s to come from the Chicagoan, after he released the single Sunny Woodz took posted to social media “Putting Out A lot Of Fun Music Before SunnySideUp2”.
