Jhene Aiko Takes Fans On A Trip

Jhene Aiko can do no wrong, so why not put out an album with no warning? The California born beauty debuted Trip today.

The 22 track offering, is nearly an hour and a half long with a star studded cast and indescribable vibes. Jhene Aiko recruited Swae Lee of Rae Sremmurd, 90’s RnB icon Brandy, Big Sean and her own daughter, Namiko Love, to lend their talents to this effort.

Trip could not be befittingly titled as the album is a high all its own. Heavy baselines and bells dance through the album beneath lyrics about love and life situations. Somewhere between a hippy and a hipster, Jhene Aiko creates a trip that can be appreciated no matter what fans’ drug of choice is.

The Remix We’ve Been Wishing For

As if DJ Drama’s “Wishing” wasn’t a big enough hit this summer, today he debuted the remix. Announced on Instagram, DJ Drama knew just what to do to build anticipation for the drop. The artwork appeared on Instagram this morning followed by the release this afternoon.

The original appeared on Drama’s Quality Street Music 2 which hit streets this passed July and featured a solid line up of r’n’b megastar Chris Brown, Inglewood based rapper Skeme and Maryland native LyQuin. This time around the DJ recruited an all-star cast of Fabolous, Trey Songz, Tory Lanez and Jhene Aiko.

Fabolous’ verse may sound familiar to Fab’s fans, as it appeared on his Summertime Shootout 2, which it was released earlier this month. Trey Songz reminded the world that he’s still smooth as silk. Tory Lanez maintains that the new school still has something to offer and Jhene Aiko lends a woman’s touch, that changes the dynamic just a bit.
