Lil Durk – Chiraqimony

In anticipation of his upcoming album Love Song 4 the Streets 2 Lil Durk debuted “Chiraqimony.”

In Lil Durk’s signature melodic flow, “Chiraqimony” address some of the issue that weigh heavy on the rapper. Sandwiched between his person legal woes and his desire to protect his mother’s feelings, Lil Durk addresses the mysterious death of Chicago teenager Kenneka Jenkins and the fact that he still isn’t allowed to perform in the city he calls home.

If “Chiraqimony” is indicative of what’s to come on Love Song 4 The Streets 2 fans have something to look forward.

Phor’s Chi Town Remix

Phor made waves as a tattoo artist at Chicago’s famed 9 Mag Tattoo on the ever popular Black Ink Crew Chicago tv show. Utilizing his platform to take his music to the next level, over the summer Phor released “Chi Town.” Today, the city was abuzz as Phor continued to show Chicago well deserved love by premiering the remix to the summer smash.

Making it’s debut today during DJ Pharris’s 5pm mix, “Chi Town” Remix is an ode to the Windy City unlike any other. Phor recruited Lil Durk, Bump J and Twista for an all star line up representative of the city he calls home.

Lil’ Durk Released Love Songs For The Streets

Lil’ Durk opens his new mixtape Love Songs For The Streets telling his own story. The Chicago native admits he had been in the streets for such a long time, moving was his only opportunity to get away from the life he new.While Lil’ Durk calls Atlanta home now, he continues to tell stories of the life he knew in Chicago. 

Love Songs For The Streets is a nine track compilation of hood athems. True to his drill roots, Lil’ Durk discusses drug use, violence and loyalty, though this effort sounds a lot like Atlanta. 

Lil’ Durk got help from a handful of artists to create Love Songs For The Streets. YNF Lucci and Young Thug are the biggest names to appear on the tape. Production was combined effort from Donis Beats, T Y Made It and some other lesser known names. Love Songs For The Streets was hosted by DJ Bandz and DJ Drama.

Lil Durk Reminds Them

Following up his studio album Durk2x, Lil Durk premiered his new mixtape They Forgot on Black Friday. 

The mixtape was hosted by DJ Bandz and Bigga Rankin. 14 tracks total, two of which were previously released. Some of the hottest names in the game made appearances on this mixtape including 21 Savage, Meek Mill, and Dej Loaf. Some newer names including Hypno Carlito and BJ The Chicago Kid also make apperences. Production was lent by a team including Young Chop, C-Sick and KidWonder.

Lil Dirk hasn’t forgotten where he came from, the rapper paid homage to his city with the cover art. It’s solely a back in white phot of a home boarded up in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago. He certainly stayed true to his Drill rap roots on this project, with lots of guns, money and women. Though more than half of the songs on the tape contain features They Forgot is a solid project and sufficient follow up for his album.

“Durk & Dej, Dej & Durk…Whatever Way, It Works”

Hip hop’s most adorable couple has linked up again to remind the world that their chemistry is not to be questioned. Lil Durk and Dej Loaf released “True or False” over the weekend and it’s a good sound for the both of them.

Though the song didn’t make Durk’s up-coming project, LilDurk2x scheduled for a late June release, it is one of his stronger tracks in recent memory. Discussing some of the mishaps of a young relationships, it’s offers the possibility that Durk and Dej could put a little romance back in hip hop. The song is just short of two minutes and was produced by Kharri.

The MidWest natives previously teamed up for “My Beyoncé,” the video for which recreated the hit 2000 film Love and Basketball. Check out “True or False” on Soundcloud: True or False
