Kehlani Delivers While We Wait

As she awaits the birth of her daughter, Kehlani made a delivery of another sort. Today, the singer-songwriter debuted her fourth project While We Wait.

While We Wait is perfectly titled, as every Kehlani fan holds their breath waiting for the star to deliver her baby girl. Clearly cognizant of her fans anxiety, Kehlani released a nine track mixtape. While We Wait is Kehlani at her best. The expectant mother gives fans everything they have grown to expect from her and so much more.

Relatable subject matter dresses in creative melodies and presented in an angelic voice; While We Wait is effortless. Though only 30 minutes long, While We Wait is evidence that the Oakland native is wise beyond her years. While We Wait explores the dynamics of different kinds of relationships with the assistance of some of musics most identifiable men, including Musiq Soulchild and DOM KENNEDY.

Kehlani – While We Wait

China-Marie’s Recognize

Relationships aren’t always rainbows and butterflies, just ask China-Marie. The Oakland based songstress relates to fan who aren’t have the best relationship days with her latest release “Recognize.”

Track five from the Made in China EP, “Recognize” gives fans a look at China-Marie in a different light. The blonde bombshell traded in her girl power lyrics to give her fans the story of a love going sideways.

Her camp calls it “her most intimate video yet” and that it is. China-Marie shares some on screen cuddles and kisses in “Recognize” while opening up about how things don’t always go right.

Kehlani Did It Again

It’s always a good day for an acoustic record and when it comes from Kehlani it’s even better. With that being said, today was a good day due to the premier of the Oakland songbird’s latest “Again.”

Acoustic and unmixed, Kehlani proves that her voice and lyrics are capable of standing on their own. Colorfully written with the imagery of Kehlani could create, “Again” is art for the ears. Though she doesn’t need it the groundwork for the track was laid by Geoffro, who is also responsible for producing “Honey.”

What Is China-Marie Doin?

Some colloquialisms are regional, however the rhetorical question “What is you doin?” is universal. Grammatically incorrect and 100% accurate at conveying outrage is this the perfect title for China-Marie’s latest single.

Still riding a high from the June release of her debut album Potpourri, the blonde bombshell is gearing up for the release of her next project in early 2018. “What Is You Doin?” is the first single from China-Marie’s upcoming Made In China EP and the songstress is using this release to establish herself as a boss. “What Is You Doin?” has a theme that has been heard before falling somewhere between Jennifer Lopez’s “Love Don’t Cost A Thing” and Beyoncé’s “Diva”. China-Marie lets her potential bae know his is unimpressive, she has her own.

The visual features hip hop royalty and Oakland native Too Short, who also serves as China-Marie’s mentor.

Kehlani – Honey

Oakland born songstress, Kehlani took to social media yesterday to announce the official premiere of her latest offering, “Honey.”

The acoustic tune about love feels like sunshine in the springtime. Unlike many of Kehlani’s previous releases about love, “Honey” is in reference to a woman, presumably the beauty who has made several appearances on her Instagram.

Sweet and simple just like its title, “Honey” is easy listening for anyone with a heart.

Kehlani is SweeySexySavage

Today, Oakland born singer/songwriter Kehlani debuted her inaugural album SweetSexySavage.

The 18 track composition has no features and was written by Kehlani. The 21-year old put her sweet, sexy and savage sides on display for this album addressing love and personal issues and sometimes just being bad.

SweetSexySavage is a hour of music for young woman who has ever felt. Kehlani proved herself to be both talented and relateble on her debut effort while taking a moment to pay homage to New Edition.
SweetSexySavage is out now.

Kehlani Gets Crzy

img_8466What a year it’s been already for the 21-year-old California native. This passed January, the Oakland-bred beauty was linked to Cleveland Cavalier guard, now NBA champion Kyrie Irving. Two short months later, the singer, Irving and Canadian musician PartyNextDoor were the center of a media frenzy that led to her attempted suicide.

Since then, she’s back with a new look and new accomplishments. She followed her nomination for “Best New Artist” at the BET Awards with the upbeat new single “Crzy”. A declaration of her passion for life, “Crzy” is fun and fresh; everything one has come to expect from the singer/song writer.
