Chimeka is Above P.A.R.

It’s inevitable that when Chimeka speaks the city listens. An artist whose name has grown to be synonymous with hip hop in Chicago, Chimeka has undoubtedly earned her stripes. While she has earned her stripes there are quite a few artist who haven’t and she addresses them on her latest single “Above P.A.R.”

Spawning from her December release Crazy, “Above P.A.R.” is a no bars held address directed at all the rappers who are all rap and no heart. P.A.R. is an acronym for Poor Ass Rappers. A reminder of exactly why when Chimeka speaks the world should listen, “Above P.A.R.” is Chimeka at her lyrical best.

The attack on rappers who don’t live up to their hype or the hype they think they deserve certainly shouldn’t be a surprise coming from Chimeka. The outspoken entertainer has personality for days and the talent to back up any claims she makes. The “Above P.A.R.” video directed by Lakeshorehy is evident of both.

The “Above P.A.R.” visual debuted on March 7 at Don’t Do Coke’s Pizza And A Movie 2 event. The visual, while simple, exemplifies exactly why fans love Chimeka. The entertainer’s personality takes the forefront in the dominating performance scenes. Undoubtedly amusing, the video doesn’t overshadow the song and every shot fired was landed and fatal for substandard rappers.
