Last week, Jill Scott made headlines and gained a ton of new fans after a clip of one of her live shows went viral. In the midst of the chaos it created fellow singer/songwriter Trey Songz paid tribute to the Philly native in an unforgettable way. His latest single: Jill.

The nearly four and a half minute song features a sample of “He Loves Me (Lyzell in E Flat) from Scott’s 2000 debut Who is Jill Scott: Words and Sounds Vol. 1. The combination of Trey Songz and Jill Scott is different in a good way. Leave it to Trey Songz to improve on perfection while paying homage.

A win for Trey Songz to say the least after he debuted the song last night, Jill Scott took to Twitter to give it her stamp of approval. Scott tweeted:

In the midst of simple minded, affection starved foolishness, this song is actually quite beautiful.

Chris Brown’s Heartbreak on a Full Moon

Years in the making, Chris Brown finally released his tenth studio album Heartbreak on a Full Moon.

It has undoubtedly been a long time coming, the 28 year old singer has been releasing singles from Heartbreak on a Full Moon for more than a year. Prior to midnight’s digital release, Chris Brown had already released enough songs to complete an album, but that pails in comparison to 45 tracks that comprise Heartbreak on a Full Moon.

The multitalented Virginia native left nothing to be desired with this album, covering every quintessential Chris Brown sound and adding some new ones. More than two and a half hours long, Chris Brown took the time to remind the world why he is Chris Brown. The feature credits for this album look more like the V.I.P list for a party and the production credits follow suit.

Chris Brown received ten platinum plaques in 2017, exclusive of Heartbreak on a Full Moon and took to social media encouraging his fans to make it debut at number one. Apparently Team Breezy is not to be doubted, as Heartbreak on a Full Moon was number one on ITunes preordered albums and as of this morning, the most downloaded album, beating out Kelly Clarkson.

Heartbreak on a Full Moon is without question Chris Brown’s best and most versatile album yet. It’s available on all media streaming platforms today and hard copies will be available Friday, November 3.

OHB & Section Boyz Attack The Block

Since making headlines in late August for a stand off with police, Chris Brown has managed to stay out of the spotlight. However, Friday the megastar stepped back into the limelight to release a new project entitled Attack The Block.

A joint effort between Breezy, his OHB crew and South London’s Section Boyz, Attack The Block is composed of 16 songs and features appearances from Ray-J and French Montana. Attack The Block is creative blend of hip hop and r’n’b, nothing short of what would be expected from a projected dominated by the multitalented Brown.

Do You Got Wifi?

Today, D.R.A.M. claimed the internet with his highly anticipated new single “Wifi”. Lyrically relative, vocally astounding and featuring the one and only, it is safe to safe “Wifi” is a hit. 

Fans took to the internet expressing their approval for D.R.A.M.’s vocal talents on the sexy duet with the incomparable Erykah Badu. Garaunteed to be the soundtrack for somebody’s next hook up “Wifi” is the tale of when chilling takes a turn. Harmonies, puns and references to Badu’s most recent effort make the song a listen.

“Wifi” is featured on the Virginia native’s debut album to be released October 21.
