August Alsina Debuts Like You Love Me

Though he’s been relatively quiet this year, August Alsina has certainly been busy. The New Orleans born singer kicked all of his addictions and today blessed fans with a visual for his brand new single “Like You Love Me.”

A little heavier, but in a great way August Alsina is looking and sounding good for “Like You Love Me.” The visual opens with a scene extremely reminiscent of D’Angelo’s “Untitled (How Does It Feel).” From there things only get steamier with the 25 year old performing laying across a bed. The visual reaches new heights when he’s joined by a scantily clad co- star and they spend the rest of the visual caressing and kissing one another.

Though the visual is simple, it is befitting of the single. “Like You Love Me” may be the most adult song Alsina has released to date. The new sound and new look are perfect.

The Messiah’s White Cups

The Messiah is no new comer to hip hop. But in the last year his loyal fan base has grown leaps and bounds and it looks like the Chicagoan may soon become a household name. His most recent visualWhite Cups” is pretty evident of why The Messiah is gaining so much success.

“White Cups” is the definitive representation of sex, drugs, and rock and roll so to speak. The Messiah teamed up with Will Mass to capture the lifestyle of a popping rapper in less than two and a half minutes. Despite the length of the visual or lack there of “White Cups” delivers all of the necessary elements for a rap video.

While it is debatable that Queen Envi’s performance makes it quite possible to watch “White Cups” without sound, the song is still pretty important. The Messiah delivers witty lyrics in an original cadence that keeps fans engaged. Despite being fun, “White Cups” is lyrically interesting and real hip hop.

Chimeka is Not Crazy

Today, Chimeka debuted the second part to her highly anticipated EP trio entitled Crazy.

The nine track effort takes fans on a journey through the inner workings of the unicorn’s mind. Crazy opens with a reflection on how she knew as a child that she wasn’t crazy, she was different. She shares that difference via a creative combination of lyricism and vocal talent only the way Chimeka could.

Crazy reiterates that Chimeka is in a lane all her own. The multitalented beauty addresses a plethora of issues, providing her own colorful commentary. The Harvey-based singer, rapper and unicorn displays a level of unprecedented versatility, delivering melodies equally as strong as her lyrics and as important to this project as the subject matter.

While Chimeka’s talent was never up for debate, Crazy is reminder that the femcee has more than enough talent to stand on her own. Though she needs no one to bolster her, Chimeka recruited the highly decorated Keith James and up and comer Solo The Dweeb in the only supporting roles for this project.

With her talent on full display Chimeka shines a light on herself, of which she is undoubtedly deserving. A perfectly planned step up from her last release, Crazy only increases the hype for Chimeka’s next release. Though fans will be antsier than ever, it’s best that they muster the patience to enjoy Crazy in all of it’s 25 minute glory. To describe the project as solid would be an understatement, Crazy is definitely a hit.

Teyana Taylor – Gonna Love Me Remix

As if Teyana Taylor hasn’t given the world enough feels, today the multitalented megastar debuted her latest video. The 28 year old invited fans to ride her time machine back to the 90s for the self-directed “Gonna Love Me” visual.

90s hip hop and rnb be was iconic in every aspect and no one quite embodies that the way Teyana Taylor does. The self-proclaimed Princess of Harlem gave the ultimate nod to the era that raised her with the visual for”Gonna Love Me.” From the oversized clothing to the basement party scene, Taylor reminded the world that she was a product of the 90s. Undoubtedly the icing on this 90s themed cake was Taylor dancing on the sidewalk Duffy-style.

The visual was the perfect pairing for the sound that actually serves as the remix to the second track on her June release k.t.s.e. The single version features Ghostface Killah, Method Man, and Raekwon The Chef all of Wu-Tang Clan. All three lyricists provided a unique cadence to the song combining the elements of hip hop and rnb in a way that only the 90s could. Raekwon The Chef, however does not appear in the video.

In the most tasteful of fashion’s Taylor dedicated the late video to model, actress, and business woman Kim Porter who rose to fame in the 90s.

Hunnid – Like That

If nothing else, in 2018 fans learned that Hunnid could not be stopped. His work ethic had never before been questioned, but after the untimely passing of his cousin and fellow hip hop artist Streetz, it appears that Hunnid has only gone harder. Most recently, Hunnid released the visual for “Like That” featuring Streetz and C.C.G. comrade MAG.

A testament to Hunnid’s strength and Streetz’ talent, “Like That” is an ode to posers. The song makes it undoubtedly clear to anyone claiming a lifestyle that they aren’t actually living that the world can see the truth.

Hunnid, Streetz, and MAG form a three headed monster, living fans to want for nothing. A barrage of punchlines delivered in three unique flows reiterates that the artists could inevitably stand alone, but together they are unstoppable. “Like That” is nearly six minutes of a verbal assailing that no artist or non-creative would want to be on the receiving end of.

The visual debuted on Black Friday and was directed by LB Vision. The concept is simple and features Hunnid, MAG, and a number of others sitting on the large porch of an abandoned home. Clips of Streetz rapping and commingled with those of news coverage of his tragic death earlier this year.
